Panic Button

Panic button can be used to trigger instant telemetry report to the telemetry platform or make a notification such as SMS message with location in case of emergency. Panic button can also be used to signal device to interrupt vehicle starting procedure in case of hijacking.

1. Physical Connection

One pin of Panic button should be connected to contact Plus, another pin - to any digital input of device.

1.1 Wiring Diagrams

This should be used as an example. Panic button can be wired to any of available digital input.

2. Adjustments in Configuration

2.1 Adding Panic Button Payload Trigger

In XDM configuration template, 'Data recording' section telemetry payload triggering signal can be selected as input connected to panic button.

Per bellow example telemetry payload will be triggered by IN2, IN3, IN4, IN5 change

2.2 Input Threshold Adjustment

Default voltage threshold for inputs to be triggered is 5V. If panic button is connected to voltage source lower than 5V, digital inputs threshold should be altered accordingly. This can be done in XDM configuration template section ‘Hardware'->’Digital inputs threshold'->'Inputs threshold settings'.
