Configuration of FMS500 ONE SOL device

FMS500 ONE SOL device has no USB port, but still can be configured via your PC using harness, provided by Xirgo Global.

Xirgo Global device updater App installed on your PC (download in the end of the page);
Firmware and Settings files, downloaded from FMSET Configurator;
Special wiring set for connecting device with PC via RS232 port (RS232/USB converter cable is optional);
Power Supply of 12V.

Downloading Firmware and Settings from FMSET Configurator

To update FW and settings you need two separate files, .aes for firmware update and .bin for settings update.

Note. Before downloading settings file, make sure that device is configured properly (APN, direct host and port etc.)

Step 1: Click Devices icon in the horizontal main menu bar. The devices page appears.

Step 2: Click on icon and downloading file of device settings.

Step 3: Click Firmwares icon in the horizontal main menu bar. The firmwares page appears.

Step 4: Click on icon and downloading file of device settings.

Step 1: Connect device to PC.

Note. Device must be disconnected from any power source (internal battery as well).

Plug the small 4 port connector into BCE device port.
Connect black wire to Power supply (-) port.
Connect red wire to Power supply (+) port.
Connect RS 232 connector to PC RS232 port (for connecting through USB port, use RS232/USB converter cable).

Step 2: Prepare files for uploading to device.

Note. At he moment power supply should be switched Off.

Copy BCE Device updater, Firmware and Settings files to your PC directory.

Step 3: Start "BCE device updater" software.

Start the Updater software by double clicking on BCE device updater App .exe file.

Step 4: Configure "BCE device updater" application.

Choose COM3 port (or other port which will appear in the drop down list).

Note. After connecting to PC can take some time till COM port drivers will be installed. During that time drop down list can be empty.

By clicking "Browse", set a directories, where Firmware and Settings are located.

Step 5: Update device.

When directories are set, click "Open" next to selected COM port.

Now turn On power supply.

Application will read firmware and bootloader versions out of device:

Click "Update" button to update firmware.

Wait till update is finished.

Click "Update" button to update settings. Wait till status changes to "Done".

Now you can close application, your device is updated.
