One of the most important parts in XDM. Devices tab is used to control main device parameters and see it`s status in real time. Devices are created by Xirgo Global team, user only needs to configure them.

In addition - devices can also be created by template, pre-configured depending on customer requirements. In such case you only need to power up the device without any extra operations (contact support team for exact details).

Search parameters

Device can be filtered by different and multiple criteria, such as IMEI, APN, firmwares.

Note. After entering the desired search parameters, the XDM system will automatically filter out devices that do not match the specified criteria. This process ensures that only relevant devices are displayed, streamlining your workflow and improving efficiency.

Device Actions

You can find 3 options of actions:

Note. All devices are created in XDM during manufacturing. If you cannot find certain device, please firstly contact Xirgo global support. Device can be in another account, which is not visible to you.

A) Advanced Search

Advanced Search will allow you to search for the devices using imei’s. After the imei’s are entered, only the devices you entered will show up.

c) Download list CSV.

"Download list CSV" - button forms a summary of device settings and gives option to download a .csv file to your PC.

“Device Settings” Window

By clicking on IMEI of device, you will get to "Edit device" window, which is main tool to configure connection and activity settings of device.

Dealer. Device is always assigned to a specific dealer. You can transfer device between your customers (sub-dealers).

Operator group. GSM operator group allows you to control device registration to a specific network. For more information please refer to section GSM operator groups.

image-20251015-112043.png

Geozone group. Geofences can be uploaded directly to device memory and used for internal signal control. For more information please refer to section Geozone groups.

Configuration. Configuration is directly responsible for device operation (Data sending timeouts; parameter sets; interface control; etc.). For more information please read section Configurations.

Notes. You can fill in some notes, depending on your requirements (vehicle identification number, model, additional equipment connected, etc.).

image-20251015-112359.png

Password. Devices can be password protected directly from our configuration manager. Without this password no one will be able to reconfigure your device via USB and SMS. For more information please refer to section Device Configuration via USB.

Firmwares. FW field contains the following options:

  • You can select preferred firmware;

  • You can see the current firmware device is using;

  • You can select not to update firmware (if current FW and preferred FW are different);

  • You can select update firmware only at home (when device detects home operator).

Note. To update device to new firmware "Keep current firmware" checkbox should be empty.

For more information please refer to section Firmwares.

Additional settings.

  • You can define unit by some characteristic and fill it in custom fields. Later on, you can search and sort devices by these fields.

  • You can save specific device as a template and forward this information to our support. Next time they create new devices, they can use this template instead of creating device from scratch.

Warranty.

If your device is newer than 2 years, warranty applies for any hardware failures. To initiate the warranty process reach out to Xirgo support trough ticketing platform or via email support@xirgo.com

Server.

  • Defining server addresses allows unit to connect to preferred servers, for update or sending actual data packets.

  • If you want to send data to two telemetry servers at the same time, you will need to update your firmware to xDxx, the first letter depends on what series device you have, for example GDxx, TDxx, etc.

  • "Config server" address is used for our maintenance server. Devices connect to this server periodically to check if any update is necessary.

  • "Data server host" is customer server (marked in red), which should accept actual data packets from the device.

  • At the moment it is possible to send data to two servers directly from device.

  • Besides Host and port, you should select protocol type (TCP/UDP) depending on your platform and network characteristics.

SIM card and APN.

  • Device SIM card number should be inserted for diagnostic purposes (SMS commands).

  • Access point name (APN) is very sensitive information. Its very important to set correct APN in order for device to connect to internet.

  • Access point name is provided by your mobile operator.

  • ICCID and IMSI numbers are read-only information. This information is retrieved from SIM card.

SMS numbers.

Service numbers are used for diagnostic purposes. You should fill in a working telephone number which can accept SMS messages.

CAN data.

  • This field is only active for specific hardware versions (which supports CAN interface).

  • You need to select specific model from the drop-down list (depending on year and model).

  • As unit has two CAN interfaces, you must select two programs separately (each for every interface).

  • In the notes field you are able to see what specific parameters each model supports.
